GAME ANALYSIS

This was set to be a great match, with Wanderers being seventh on the ladder and Tiwi sixth. Tiwi dominated from the first bounce, creating a lead which Muk Muks couldn’t recover from. Simon Munkara got four goals for Tiwi but they sure did share around the load, with a total of eight goal kickers for the game! Muk Muks have been dominant in the midfield during the opening quarter, however missed a few scoring opportunities from the left pocket. Albert Tipungwuti slotted two goals for Tiwi, whilst Braedon McLean kicked Wanderers first for the game. Gaining momentum, Liam Patrick kicked two unanswered goals to start the second quarter for Muk Muks. Before Tiwi responded using their fast feet to get the ball though for another four goals. The contests were fairly even it was just a matter of who could capitalise on their scoring opportunities. Tiwi nearly kept Wanderers goalless in the third term with their defenders working hard to keep the ball down their fifty. Liam Patrick however had other plans, kicking his second goal on the siren for the Muk Muks.

GAME ANALYSIS

At the quarter time break Waratah 3.3.21 trailed St Mary’s at TIO Stadium. The Saints dominated the score board slamming on seven goals with Jaden McGrath kicking three. Justin Beugelaar was lively up forward for Tahs bombing a massive goal from the 50 metre line but coach Michael ‘Magic’ McLean was not happy with his troops at the first break calling on a greater effort for the rest of the game. A much more low scoring quarter in the second with only 3 goals kicked between the two teams. Some tight defence by Johnny Anstess and Iggy Vallejo for Saints while Abe Ankers continually ran the ball out of the back line for Tahs. Saints 9.6.60 led Tahs 4.6.30 at the main break. At three quarter time Waratah 6.7.43 still trailed Saints 14.7.91. GAME ANALYSIS

The heavy rain over the weekend created a slippery affair for the Men's Premier League match between Palmerston and Darwin with both teams struggling to keep their feet. Palmerston held possession of the ball for a majority of the first quarter but couldn't translate it into scoring. Darwin's two goals in the first term came from quick transitions from defence and were kicked by Darren Shillabeer. Darwin was more settled in the second quarter and found more possession of the ball, however, both teams struggled to find significant space with both the pressure ramping up and the conditions creating a sluggish game. Adam Sambono, in his first Premier League match back from an extended break, kicked his first goal for the match in the quarter and would go on to kick three in total for the game. The lack of space for both teams continued in the third quarter as the ball would get locked into an area for an extended period of time, which meant neither team was able to find an easy shot on goal, resulting in a low scoring game. Both teams tired in the final term as the conditions played a large toll on the players, however, Darwin found another gear in the last ten minutes and went on to kick the final three goals of the game which resulted in a 42-point win. Palmerston was in the contest for most of the match but couldn't find many scoring options and kicked only five goals for the entire game.
