NTFL Match Review Panel: Round 13

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 13 of the 2017/18 TIO NTFL Season.

The following charges have been laid in the senior divisions:  

MEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE

Simon Bates, of Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct against player number 40 of St Mary’s Football Club in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, low impact and contact to the body and result in a one-match suspension.

In summary, Bates can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

 

Jerome Motlop, runner of Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with misconduct, in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.
 
Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal. 

 

Michael Coombes, of St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 7 of the Wanderers Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  
 
Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, low impact and high contact and result in a one-match suspension.

In summary, Coombes can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.
 
Coombes has been charged with a second offence of striking player number 5 of the Wanderers Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal. 

Coombes has been charged with a third offence of striking player number 9 of the Wanderers Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Coombes has been charged with a fourth offence of wrestling player number 9 of the Wanderers Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Coombes has been charged with a fifth offence of rough conduct on player number 9 of the Wanderers Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Coombes has been charged with a sixth offence of kicking player number 9 of the Wanderers Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal.

 

Jaryd Cachia, of St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct on player number 9 of the Wanderers Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  
 
Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact and result in a two-match suspension.

In summary, Cachia can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.

 

Thomas Motlop, of Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with wrestling player number 1 of the St Mary’s Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Friday 12th January 2018.  
 
Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should result in a one-match suspension.

In summary, Motlop can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

 

Henry Armour, of Southern Districts Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct against player number 15 of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Southern Districts at TIO Stadium on Saturday 13th January 2018.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, low impact and high contact and result in a one-match suspension.

Due to the player’s poor record in the last two years, the penalty was increased to a two-match suspension.

In summary, Armour can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.


 

Bradley Stokes, of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 28 of Southern Districts Football Club in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Southern Districts at TIO Stadium on Saturday 13th January 2018.  

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and contact to the body resulting in a one-match suspension.

 
Due to the player’s poor record in the last two years, the penalty was increased to a two-match suspension.

In summary, Stokes can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.


 

MEN’S DIVISION 1 
 
Michael Bouwer, of Tracy Village Football Club, has been charged with abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Tracy Village and Palmerston at Tracy Village Oval on Sunday 14th January 2018.
 
Based on the umpire’s report it was the view of the panel that the incident should result in a one-match suspension.

In summary, Bouwer can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

 

UNDER 18 BOYS 
 
Darren Habets, water carrier of Waratah Football Club, has been charged with abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards an opposition player from the Nightcliff Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Under 18 Boys match between Waratah and Nightcliff at Gardens Oval on Sunday 14th January 2018.
 
Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal. 

 

TRIBUNAL UPDATE

At this stage, Tribunal is set to sit over two nights to hear the different charges:

Wednesday 17 January from 6pm

1. Mitchell Taylor, of Wanderers Football Club will face the charge of forceful front on contact, from the Round 12 TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Darwin Buffaloes Football Club. 

2. Jerome Motlop, of Wanderers Football Club will face the above charge.

3. Michael Coombes, of St Mary’s Football Club will face the above charges. 

Thursday 18 January from 6pm

1. Darren Habets, of Waratah Football Club will face the above charge. 

2. The Disciplinary Tribunal will sit to review a spectator who has been charged with a breach of the AFLNT Conditions of Entry & Code of Conduct at the Round 11 TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League Match between Southern Districts Football Club and Nightcliff Football Club at Norbuilt Oval.
