TIO NTFL match review panel full statement: 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Week Three Finals of the 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season.

The following charges have been laid:   

PREMIER LEAGUE

Julian Lockwood, Nightcliff Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct during the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Nightcliff Football Club and Wanderers Football Club at TIO Stadium on Saturday 11th March 2017.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless, low impact and high contact resulting in a one-match suspension.

In summary, Lockwood can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea. 

Miles Warmington, Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with striking during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Nightcliff Football Club and Wanderers Football Club at TIO Stadium on Saturday 11th March 2017.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and high contact resulting in a two match suspension. The player has a bad record within the last 12 months, which increases the sanction from a two-week to a three-week sanction.

In summary, Warmington can accept a two-match penalty as an early guilty plea. 

DIVISION ONE

Brendan Lee, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Division One match between Banks Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 11th March 2017.

Based on video evidence and umpire report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless, high impact and body contact resulting in a two-match suspension.

In summary, Lee can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
