Aaron Motlop, Jason Roe, Richard Tambling, Shannon Rioli, Phillip Wills and Justin Beugelaar named as the 2015 NT Thunder Leadership Group.
The NT Thunder Leadership Group was last night announced, after a vote from the senior playing squad.
Individual players were voted for on their loyalty to the team’s brand, values and the ability to lead the playing group in training, on game days and off the field.
Players are given a 5,4,3,2,1 vote (5 being the highest).
The leadership group are responsible for driving the standards of the football club, supporting their captain, to challenge their peers and educate them in the values and behaviours of the club. The emphasis being on improving the players individually as they improve as a team.
Head Coach Xavier Clarke comments:
“We as a football club couldn¹t be happier with the players selected in the leadership group for 2015. The one thing I love about this concept, is that the players voted individually as to who they want as their leaders.
My role as a coach is to continue to help players grow their leadership qualities.”
NT Thunder’s captain and vice captaincy will be selected from this leadership group and will be announced tomorrow.
