TIO NTFL MATCH REVIEW PANEL FULL STATEMENT: 2016/17 TIO NTFL SEASON

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Week One Finals of the 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season.

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Week One Finals of the 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season.

The following charges have been laid:

WOMEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

Danielle Ponter, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with attempted striking during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Tracy Village Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at Gardens Oval on Sunday 26th February 2017.

Based on umpire report, it was the view of the panel that the incident would result in a one-match suspension.

In summary, Ponter can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

Danielle Ponter, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with making an obscene gesture to the crowd during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Tracy Village Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at Gardens Oval on Sunday 26th February 2017.

Based on the umpire's report, it was the view of the panel that the incident would result in a one-match suspension. Due to the player’s first report for a low level offence from the same game, the final penalty was increased to two-matches.

In summary, Ponter can accept a one-match suspension for this charge as an early guilty plea.

MEN’S DIVISION ONE

Peter Bowey, Banks Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct during the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division One match between Banks Football Club and PINT Football Club at the TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 25th February 2017.

Based on incident referral, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless, high impact and high contact

The matter has been referred directly to the Tribunal.
