AFL Northern Territory has called for nominations from NTFL Club stakeholders to assist in the recruitment process for filling the soon-to-be vacant position of Manager of Football Operations.

The role which is being vacated by Joel Bowden next Friday will be recruited for locally and nationally utilising paper, electronic and network advertising.

The position will be re-titled to ‘Manager of Community Football and Facilities’ and will focus on;

  • NTFL and all other NT competitions 12 months a year, allowing planning to commence immediately post-season.
  • Umpiring
  • Stadia and facilities
  • Infrastructure development.

The Manager of Community Football and Facilities will not oversee NT Thunder, which will realigned to AFLNT Manager of High Performance, Wally Gallio.

An acting Manager of Community Football and Facilities will be appointed while the recruitment process is underway, with a view of the role being filled by November 1.

The interview panel will comprise Stuart Totham - Chief Operating Officer, Amy Blake - Manager of Communications and Digital Media and a Club Stakeholder to represent all clubs. Before an appointment is made, a final round of interviews will be conducted by Michael Solomon - AFLNT CEO and an AFL HR representative.

NTFL Club Stakeholders wanting to be involved in the recruitment process have been asked to submit all nominations by September 1.
