TIO NTFL MATCH REVIEW PANEL - RD 3

FULL STATEMENT: 2016/17 TIO NTFL SEASON

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 3 of the 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season.

The following charges have been laid:

MEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE


Bradley Stokes, Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, has been charged with striking, during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Waratah and Darwin Buffaloes at TIO Stadium on Saturday 22 October 2016.

Based on an incident referral, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, high impact and high contact.

This incident has been referred to the Tribunal.

WOMEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

Michaelia Roberts, Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, has been charged with headbutting/contact using head, during the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Darwin Buffaloes at TIO Stadium on Saturday 22 October 2016.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match suspension.

In summary, Roberts can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.

MEN’S DIVISION ONE

Matthew Gale, PINT Football Club, has been charged with striking, during the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Nightcliff and PINT at PSC BM Oval on Saturday 22 October 2016.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, high impact and high contact.

This incident has been referred to the Tribunal.
