TIO COMMIT $1M TO STADIUM FOR NEXT TEN YEARS

AFL Northern Territory, together with Territory Insurance Office (TIO), is excited to announce a $1 million, 10-year extension to the naming rights sponsorship of TIO Stadium.

A naming rights partner of both the TIO NTFL and TIO CAFL competitions, the sponsorship renewal will see TIO continue its 26-year involvement and support of football in the Territory through to 2026.

Managing Director for Allianz Australia, Niran Peiris said TIO is proud to be involved in the development and support of football in the Northern Territory for the next decade.
“This is a 10 year commitment from TIO not just to football in the Territory but to community infrastructure and the NT way of life.
“This is a long-term commitment that demonstrates that TIO is still, and will always be, all about the Territory, here for Territorians,” Peiris said.

TIO Chief Executive Officer Daryl Madden reinforced Peiris’ message by saying that TIO’s involvement doesn’t stop with TIO Stadium naming rights.
“We are proud to sponsor the NTFL as a whole, we were the founding sponsor of the TIO Women’s Lightning Series, we are a great supporter of the diversity football brings to the Territory and are excited for the TIO Get Ready Round on 19 November,” he said.

AFLNT Chief Executive Officer Michael Solomon said TIO has invested in Territory football for many years and is proud to see their involvement continue though the renewal of the naming rights sponsorship of TIO Stadium.

“The stadium is the Territory’s most iconic piece of sporting infrastructure and we are extremely pleased to be able to announce today that this investment will span another decade and the famous TIO Stadium will continue to be known as ‘TIO Stadium’,” Solomon said.

“Thanks to this capital investment, with a $500,000 contribution in the first year and annual support to the value of $50,000 each year thereafter, this is a major boost for our ongoing development of stadium infrastructure. Works including: updating of existing facilities, new food outlets, and female-friendly change rooms, are just a few of the intended improvements,” said Mr Solomon.

“Football is a big part of life in the NT, it brings communities together and it is fantastic that players, past and present who utilised the facilities at TIO Stadium five or 10 years ago, are now seeing their kids run around in the same stadium under the same name.

“The TIO name has over the course of the last decade become synonymous with supporting football at all levels in the NT and this significant commitment demonstrates their aim to continue to support football well into the future.”

The sponsorship renewal will see TIO committed to Territory football for 36 years. TIO has sponsored TIO Stadium since 2006.
