BRODIE FILO TAKES OUT THE NICHOLS MEDAL

AFLNT Nightcliff star Brodie Filo has taken out the 2015-16 Nichols Medal, finishing two votes clear of runner-up William Farrer in a thrilling vote count at SKYCITY’s Beachside Pavilion on Sunday 13 March.

Going into the last round both Filo and Farrer were in equal first on 16 votes before Filo was awarded two votes in Nichtcliff’s Round 18 win over the Wanderers.
The Nichols Medal win caps off a stellar year for Filo who has also won the NT News – William Hill NTFL Player of the Year for the 2015-16 season.
It’s not the first time the 25-year-old from Eaglehawk dominates a competition, Filo is the reigning Michelsen Medallist, Bendigo Football League’s best-and-fairest award.
Having played football across the country, the gun midfielder will return to regional Victoria at season’s end to play and work in Shepparton.
For winning the 2015-16 Nichols Medal, Filo receives two return airfares from Darwin to Melbourne thanks to Virgin Australia. He has also been rewarded with two tickets to the 2016 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
In the TIO NTFL Women’s Division One competition, Waratah vice-captain Angela Foley has gone back-to-back, taking out the Coca-Cola Medal as the competition’s top player.
The TIO NTFL Division One Mitch Lee Medallist was awarded to Banks star Will Johnson, while Nightcliff’s Jaise Coleman has taken out the TIO NTFL Division 2 Lancaster Medal.
