NTFL Umpires Association are looking for new recruits for the 2013/14 TIO NTFL Season and are holding a FREE "Come & Try" Umpiring Evening Wednesday the 28th of August at TIO Stadium No 2 Oval starting at 5.40pm.

AFL Northern Territory Umpiring Development Manager Mark Noonan is looking forward to the evening with Prizes & Giveaways on offer for those willing to try out Umpiring. Noonan said we hope to give the public a taste of umpiring with basic fun drills over the hour and finish up with a FREE BBQ.

Noonan also said "it doesn’t matter if your 13 or 65, male or female, an athlete or not, anyone can have a go at umpiring in either the Field, on the Boundary or in the Goals."

NTFL Umpires have also been promoting umpiring at recent events such as NT Athletics "Territory Track Time 5", Darwin 1/2 Marathon and City to Surf run. With local umpires running in all three events, an AFL Boundary Umpire Michael Marantelli winning the City To Surf, 4 local umpires winning the group 1/2 Marathon and placing in a lot of the events at the NT Athletics "Territory Track Time".
