Round five concluded the home and away roster of the Quit Now Cup Secondary Schools Competition with St. John’s taking the points from Darwin High and Kormilda storming home against Taminmin to make a late charge to the Grand Final.
All Teams involved in the Quit Now Cup have represented themselves and their schools with great pride and a sportsman like attitude.
Traditional rivals St. John’s Catholic College and Kormilda College have made their way to the Grand Final to be played at TIO Stadium ground #2 at 4:00pm Wednesday 12th of September. St. John’s have managed to go through unbeaten and Kormilda made a late charge defeating Taminmin by a whopping 71 points to give themselves the percentage to go through to the Grand Final. St. John’s narrowly defeated Kormilda earlier in the competition by just 7 points in a cracking encounter and the Grand Final promises to be another epic battle between the two rivals.
We invite all students, players, coaches and staff who have been involved with the competition to come down next Wednesday to watch the Quit Now Cup – Secondary Schools AFL Grand Final.
