Brotherly love on the line as Western Bulldogs and Gold Coast Suns team mascots announced

The dream of running out with an AFL team came true for two local children this morning after AFL Northern Territory selected and announced the winners of the AFL Team Mascot competition.

Children and parents/caregivers were asked to log on to

AFLNT was inundated with responses from children across the Territory, with the winning entries coming from brothers Max and Brody Morgan of Millner.

Max, aged six, will run out with the Western Bulldogs while nine-year old Brody will lead the Gold Coast Suns out on to TIO Stadium on Saturday night for the ‘Dreamtime in Darwin’ AFL Indigenous Round clash.

AFLNT Sponsorship and Marketing Manager Brad Stewart congratulated the boys on winning the competition and said that the high volume of entries complimented the high interest in the Round 8 AFL clash.

‘It is clear that not only are people excited by the clash between Western Bulldogs and Gold Coast Suns but there are also plenty of kids across the Territory keen to be a part of the action," said Stewart.

"We were overwhelmed by the number of entries and it was a tough decision to choose the two winners after some very creative responses,"

"Football is a passion and a lifestyle for many Territory kids and competitive spirit comes easily to them,"

"This was made abundantly clear in a large majority of the responses and with Max and Brody being selected, brotherly love will be on the line".

The boys will receive a merchandise pack full of goodies courtesy of the two AFL clubs and the family will be treated to a complimentary Family Pass to watch all the action unfold at TIO Stadium.
