RYCO SUPPORTS NT YOUTH GIRLS STATE CHAMPS

Ryco 24/7 in conjunction with local businessman Steve Lockwood, have thrown their support behind the inaugural AFL Northern Territory Youth Girls State Championships in September.

“This will be the first event of its kind in the Northern Territory and Ryco’s support will enable us to run an outstanding event,” said AFLNT Female Development Manager Breeanna Brock.

A first for the Territory, Ryco are supporting the advancement of high performance sport for girls and female football programs in general.
“Ryco’s support of this event will provide the opportunity for girls to participate in a structured talent identification system similar to that of their male counterparts.”

The carnival will expose participants to high performance testing such as beep test, vertical leap and similar tests to those conducted at the NAB AFL Draft Camp.
“This carnival will give the girls the opportunity to compete at a Territory level against their peer group. These girls will be the future talent for the Female Football player pathway,” said Brock.

Ryco Regional Manager Derek Bonner is excited about the prospect of the Youth Girls program in the Northern Territory.
“Ryco 24/7 is pleased to support such an important event which is an integral part of AFLNT’s new push into female development and with the experienced Breeanna Brock behind the project we are sure that the program will be a success,” said Bonner.

Representative teams chosen from Darwin, Palmerston, Alice Springs, Tiwi, Maningrida, Wadeye, Gove and Katherine from the Middle School Girls Program will compete in a two day carnival at TIO Stadium on the 27th and 28th of September, 2010.
