Davis Appointed Head Coach of NT Thunder

The NT Thunder is pleased to announce that Murray Davis has been appointed Head Coach of the NT Thunder for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

Murray has held the role of High Performance Manager over the past 12 months and that experience in addition to his coaching experience in the QAFL made him the ideal candidate for the position.

"We are pleased that we were able to make the appointment from within the Club, Murray has developed a good knowledge of the players, the program and the football structure in the Northern Territory and that along with his strong coaching background made him the candidate best suited to the role, we now look forward to finalising negotiations with our current playing list as well as securing potential recruits and will bolster our coaching and football operations areas with the appointment of a Football Operations Officer/Assistant Coach in the near future, all in readiness for the commencement of pre season in mid November" said CEO Stuart Totham.

"It’s a terrific honour to be named as the new NT Thunder coach. Working with Michael "Mago" McLean and the whole Thunder organisation in the first year has taught me a lot. These experiences along with my coaching experiences in the QAFL I hope will continue to see the club be successful. I’m looking forward to being a part of the club’s next phase and working closely with the players and everyone involved in Thunder to build on the solid foundations from our first year in the competition," said Davis.
