2010-11 TIO NTFL PREMIER LEAGUE DRAW

AFL Northern Territory has released the official 2010-11 TIO NTFL Premier League Draw including finals.

Consisting of the traditional 18 rounds plus four weeks of finals the TIO NTFL Premier League season will commence on Friday 8th October with the Wanderers taking on Southern Districts at TIO Stadium.

Round One will also include the Grand Final re-match between St Marys and the Tiwi Bombers at TIO Stadium on Saturday commencing at 5:00pm.

Incumbent AFLNT Football Operations Manager Anthony Venes, has weaved in rounds to reflect the history of the NTFL and where it has come from in recent years.

“We will be holding a AFLNT Hall of Fame Round to coincide with the first induction night of the AFLNT Hall of Fame in October,”

“We also return to the traditional home of football in Round 15 where, three premier league games will be played at Gardens Oval along with the now traditional Community Round of Football where games are played at suburban venues around the top end.”

AFLNT have also scheduled in games at Nguiu Oval on Bathurst Island with Darwin (Rd.2), Nightcliff (Rd.5), Palmerston (Rd.9) and Wanderers (Rd.16) all making trek over the Arafura Sea to the islands to play.

CHANGES TO NT THUNDER PLAYER MOVEMENT RULES FOR 2010-11 TIO NTFL SEASON



AFL Northern Territory and the Northern Territory Football Club have announced the following rules and changes to be implemented with regards to NT Thunder players wishing to participate in the 2010-11 TIO NTFL Season.

“We were always going to have teething issues when implementing new rules upon the existing structure we have in the NTFL,” said AFLNT Football Operations Manager Anthony Venes.

The new rule will allow NT Thunder players to play:

“25 games plus NTFL finals from 1 April 2010 to 1 April 2011 (AFLQ and NTFL season). 25 games include AFLQ finals and National under 18 games.  AFLQ State Game included.”

“The new rules will see the standard of the NTFL lift and will see the best of the best playing during finals action.”
