SAINTS ARE THE CHAMPION CLUB ACROSS THE BOARD

After 18 rounds of junior, senior and women’s football, AFL Northern Territory are pleased to announce that St Marys Football Club have won the inaugural Cazalys Champion Club Award.

“The Cazalys Champion Club Award is awarded to a club with the best performance across all aspects of its football operations,” said AFLNT Football Operations Manager Marc Turri.
“The award primarily focuses on accredited coaching staff, teams entered into competition, number of suspensions a club may have and also games won.”
St Marys Football Club President Greg Connors will be presented with the award at tonight’s training session at TIO Stadium by Cazalys Chairman Ray Norman.
“Cazalys are pleased be sponsoring this award and we congratulate the St Marys Football Club who have demonstrated excellence across all aspects of their football operations” said Norman.
St Marys President Greg Connors was pleased that there is an award that represents the performance of the whole club.
“The St Marys Football, Sporting and Social Club is very proud to be awarded the 2009/10 NTFL Club Championship. These types of awards are extremely important to NTFL clubs as they are true indicators of football success. The award again illustrates the professionalism demonstrated throughout the Club, from its coaches, administration, support staff, volunteers and players,” said Saints President Greg Connors.
Apart from some hardware the Cazalys Champion Club will also receive a cash prize of $3000 and St Mary’s have pledged $1000 of this to The Bryan Ah Mat Appeal.
“The award and its associated cash bonus comes at a very good time for the Club because recently one of our Club stalwarts and community sporting personality Bryan Ah Mat suffered serious head injuries in a recent non-football related mishap. His recovery and subsequent rehabilitation will place significant financial strain on his family,” said Connors.
“Over the next three weeks we will be hosting guests to a unique game day corporate package at TIO stadium for the NTFL 2nd semi final, preliminary final and grand final. All proceeds will be going into the appeal account,” Connors explained.
