2009/10 TIO NTFL ‘SEATBELTS SAVE LIVES’ FINALS SERIES

After 18 rounds of fierce competition and rivalry the TIO NTFL season is now coming to a head with the 2009/10 TIO NTFL ‘Seatbelts Save Lives Final Series’.

Five teams remain in the hunt for the 2009/10 TIO NTFL Premiership with the Tiwi Bombers leading the pack going on an unbeaten 16 win streak to polish of their regular season.

“Apart from a stellar year by the Bombers, the remainder of the competition has been relatively even and we are shaping up for a very exciting final series,” said AFLNT Football Operations Manager Marc Turri.

The final four spots filled by Southern Districts, St Marys, Waratah and Palmerston are only separated by just four points and percentage on the ladder.

The TIO NTFL ‘Seatbelts Save Lives Final Series’ kicks off at 3:30pm Saturday afternoon with the Waratah Warriors facing the Palmerston Magpies in the Elimination Final at TIO Stadium.

Then at 6:00pm the Saints will do battle with the Crocs in the Qualifying Final.

TIO continued it’s long standing partnership with the NTFL in 2009/10 and have been using their support of the NTFL to promote an array of vital road safety messages to the NTFL community.

“The promotion of road safety is an important part of TIO’s purpose, and our sponsorship of the NTFL Finals Series is a great opportunity to promote the ‘seatbelts save lives’ message,” said TIO’s Michael Hoare, General Manager Corporate Services.

“Almost half of all Territory road fatalities in the last three years were people who were not wearing seatbelts. Our message is simple: seatbelts do save lives.”
