St Johns take early points in Quit Now Cup - Round 2

St Johns firmed themselves as favourites after another dominating performance over Darwin College at Gardens Oval.

St Johns vs. Darwin at Gardens

The first game in round 2 saw the two undefeated side’s clash, St Johns coming off a good win against CSC and Darwin who claimed a big upset last week downing Kormilda. To add further excitement to the game former North Melbourne Kangaroo’s player and the AFL Shinboner of the century Glen Archer was down to watch the game and give some helpful tips, the Darwin lads were lucky enough to have Glen take them for there warm up which without a doubt pumped up the Darwin side.
Once the game finally started it was the St Johns Side who was in complete control from start to finish. They pilled on the pressure and shared the ball around really well. The finial margin was St Johns by 52 points.
The Stand outs for St Johns included Sampson Henry Jnr who had lots of the footy but Ishmael palmer often stole tho show with some clever things as well as booting two majors. For Darwin there Captain John Koenig was a real work horse, ran hard from start to finish and led by example.
The Darwin side must regroup for next weeks clash were they will line up against a determined CSC team, Darwin need a win if they want to finish on top of the ladder. St Johns have another big clash this weekend were they will face their rivals in Kormilda College, but this game has more at stake then top spot. The two sides will clash for the SMOKE FREE CUP, and annual match played between the two sides.
