Malcolm Rosas All Australian selection

Talented Territory footballer Malcom Rosas Jnr has been selected to play in the NAB AFL Under 18 All-Australian squad. 

A product of the Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, Rosas has had an outstanding 12 months including most recently being awarded the 2018/19 NT News Rising Star at the Nichols Medal in March. 

An impressive junior talent, he made his Men’s Premier League debut in the NTFL at the age of 15 and has racked up 29 games in three seasons.

Last September he played for the NAB AFL All Stars in the 2018 Toyota AFL Grand Final curtain raiser match on the MCG which showcased the best Under 17 talent in the country.

He is also part of the NAB AFL Academy and spent time training at the Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions in November as part of the program.

Coached by former AFL premiership star from the Brisbane Lions, Luke Power, the All Australian team will play the Casey Demons Under 18 side at the MCG on Saturday 20th April.

Retired AFL stars Leigh Brown (forwards), Brent Harvey (mids) and Brad Johnson (backs) will assist Power as the line coaches for the team.

Rosas is the only Territorian selected for this honour and will travel to Melbourne to join the squad for education and fitness sessions in the days leading up to the game. They will be presented with their All-Australian guernseys at a special presentation on the Thursday at Docklands.

The All-Australian team will then play the Casey Demons at the MCG on Saturday 20 April at 11am and the game will be broadcast live on Fox Footy. It will be a curtain raiser to the Toyota AFL Round 5 AFL St Kilda vs Melbourne AFL match.

“He has been exposed to the most elite environments in the country and shown he has the talent to play at the highest level and to be selected All-Australian is a real feather in his cap,” he said.
