AFL Northern Territory and TIO have renewed naming right agreements for the TIO Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) and TIO Central Australian Football League (CAFL).

The sponsorship renewal will see TIO continue its 28-year-to-date involvement and support of football in the Territory.

TIO CEO Daryl Madden said he was pleased the local insurer was able to continue to support both leagues.

“Footy brings communities together and we are already seeing multiple generations of families come through Territory football,” Mr. Madden said.

“With the 2018 TIO NTFL competition already underway, we wish all clubs the best of luck for the season and let's hope it is not impacted by a cyclone like last year.”

AFLNT CEO Stuart Totham said he was thrilled to welcome TIO back as the top-tier partner of both leagues.

“We are extremely pleased to have TIO sign on for another three years as naming rights partner of the TIO NTFL and TIO CAFL.

“With an association that spans almost three decades now, TIO has been synonymous with not only our competitions but our stadiums and even our teams and its continued investment allow us to keep growing.

“The support of TIO is something we are very fortunate to have and together we are proud to deliver our much-loved game to the community.

“We look forward to the next three years of a healthy and vibrant TIO NTFL competition”.

The news comes off the back of TIO renewing its naming rights to TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs’ most significant piece of sporting infrastructure, earlier this week through an ongoing partnership with the Alice Springs Town Council.

The deal, which sees TIO assume the naming rights for five years, will see an injection of $300,000 into the Alice Springs economy, with $120,000 paid upfront to facilitate the installation of LED scoreboard technology at the stadium by June 2019.
