TIO NTFL MATCH REVIEW PANEL FULL STATEMENT: 2016/17 TIO NTFL SEASON

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 18 of the 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season.

MEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

Nicholas Yarran, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with striking during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between St Mary’s  Football Club and Waratah Football Club at TIO Stadium on Saturday 18th February 2017.
 
Based on video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident would result in a one-match suspension.
  
In summary, Yarran can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

MEN’S DIVISION ONE

Marius Clarke, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with kneeing during the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division One match between PINT Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at the Marrara Cricket Ground on Sunday 19th February 2017.
 
Based on umpire report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, medium impact and body contact resulting in a two-match suspension.


In summary, Clarke can accept a one match suspension as an early guilty plea.

Luke Stapleton, PINT Football Club, has been charged with striking during the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division One match between PINT Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at the Marrara Cricket Ground on Sunday 19th February 2017.
 
Based on umpire report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and body contact resulting in a one-match suspension. The player has a bad record within the last two years, which increases the sanction by one-week to a two-week sanction.


In summary, Stapleton can accept a one match suspension as an early guilty plea.
