SMA NT - SIDELINE HELPERS COURSE (FREE)

SMA NT are offering a FREE Sideline Helpers Course for Club Volunteers and Coaches to learn the basics around Injury Prevention, Injury Management, Concussion and how to manage the movement of Injured Athletes.

Friday the 17th of November at TIO Stadium (Kantilla’s)

Course Content:

  • Injury Prevention – which includes a brief look at Warm Up, Stretching and Cool Down and some other components of prevention
  • Injury Management – a brief look at DRSABCD, RICER AND NO HARM
  • Concussion – we have taken a leaf out of the ERC book here, it is not normally covered in the Sideline Help, but we think it is important to spend a little bit of time on it for your participants.
  • Move an Injured Athlete – similar to Concussion.

Course duration: 5:30pm to 8:00pm
Course Brief:
The Sideline Help course is an introduction to sports injury prevention and management. This course is for those who are new to the concept of sports medicine. The course is ideal for Parents, Coaches, Players, Teachers, and Administrators interested in gaining entry level knowledge into sports injury prevention and management. There are no prerequisites for this course.
