2012 Stay Strong Live Long Final Series

2012 MacDonnell Shire Council ‘Stay Strong, Live Long’ CAFL Final Series Kicks Off in Red Centre.

This weekend marks the beginning of the 2012 MacDonnell Shire Council ‘Stay Strong, Live Long’ Central Australian Football League Final Series in Alice Springs.

The ‘Stay Strong, Live Long’ CAFL Final Series kicks off this Saturday after a new two division format was implemented for the 2012 Season.

"For the first time in many years there is no stand out contender and the top five have been fiercely competitive throughout the minor round," advised AFLNT Regional Manager Andy Hood.

The new structure is aimed at the developing clubs and giving them a taste of finals football but also serving as ongoing motivation to reach higher standards and best practice within their existing club structures.

"The new two tiered, Premier League and Division One Structure has been fantastic as it gives clubs that are developing and otherwise may not be competitive an opportunity to play finals footy and the ultimate chance to play in a Grand Final,

"If you take a look at West and Mac Districts for example, these two clubs are both playing each other this weekend in a very important final in Division One. It’s also fantastic to see that there are six communities represented through all grades in the first week of finals which is a fantastic effort for the communities but also a result of our community engagement and development programs we have put in place to assist them in garnering better off field structures," stated Andy Hood.

Games start with the U/17 at 11.00am leading into the Premier League Qualifying Final between Rovers and Pioneers scheduled for 4.00 pm. For all game times go to
