Palmerston will aim to continue their strong start to the season with a high-stakes clash against the Darwin Buffettes tonight at Cazaly’s arena for Round 3 of the 2024/25 TIO NTFL season.

The Magpies impressed in their season opener last weekend, securing a convincing win over Waratah. Talia McMasters and Mikayla Baldwin were standout performers, while Taelah Smith dominated up forward, booting three goals.

The Buffettes have faced tough opposition to begin the season and will be desperate to record their first win of 2024/25.

Southern districts have a huge opportunity to go three from three with a clash against the Tiwi bombers tomorrow at Gardens Oval.

The Crocs currently sit atop the ladder, showcasing a much-improved side compared to last season. Last week’s commanding victory over Wanderers saw Michala Collins and Bonnie Brown combine for an impressive 11 goals.

The bombers, after a dominant opening-round performance, were brought back down to earth with a heavy defeat against PINT last weekend. Despite the loss, Ellie Kellock battled hard, while Arthurina Moreen and Freda Puruntatameri remain dangerous threats.

Waratah, coming off back-to-back losses, face another tough assignment in a rampaging Nightcliff.

Last week, the Warriors had solid contributions from Abigail Adams, Skye Haslem, and Brittany Daly, but they’ll need a tremendous effort to take down the unbeaten Tigers.

Nightcliff, fresh from an impressive 30-point win over the Darwin Buffaloes, saw standout performances from Eliza Hand and Gabrielle Deller. The Warriors' defence will have their hands full trying to contain in-form forwards Cassie McWilliam and Mickayla Ward, who combined for six goals against the Buffettes.

In a rematch of last season’s grand final, St Marys will be out to prove a point against PINT.

After a wasteful opening-round performance against Nightcliff, the Saints will need to sharpen their accuracy if they hope to overcome the powerful Queenants. Caitlin Sargent, Paula Pavic and Lexie Cagney all produced strong games in the opening round and will be looking for another big effort tomorrow.

For PINT, Reni Hicks returned to her best form in last weekend’s win over the Tiwi Bombers, while arguably the competition’s best forward in Steph Lawrence finished with four goals.
