In tomorrow's early game for Round 2 of the 2024/25 TIO NTFL Season, Waratah will take on Palmerston at TIO Stadium. After having the bye last weekend, the Magpies are somewhat of an unknown quantity heading into this clash. Champion junior player and Rising Star winner Marika Carlton has been named in the side, while former AFL player Laquoiya Cockatoo-Motlap is also expected to take the field.

Waratah, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Southern Districts. Despite registering more scoring shots than their opponents, inaccuracy in front of goal cost the Warriors crucial points. Dangerous forward Jenna Singh-Lippo will be one to watch, while Hayley Finning and Ruby O’Dwyer both impressed in the opening round.

Southern Districts aim to continue their winning momentum as they face Wanderers at Norbuilt Oval. The Crocs kicked off their season with a solid nine-point victory over Waratah, with Emma Forsyth and Alessia Smythe leading the way. Bonnie Brown was a key target up forward, kicking two goals, and will be looking to make an even bigger impact tomorrow.

Wanderers, meanwhile, showed great spirit despite a heavy loss to the Tiwi Bombers last weekend. However, with a focus on development this season, the Eagles will likely face another challenging contest against the in-form Crocs.

In what could potentially be the game of the round, PINT will go head-to-head with Tiwi Bombers. The Queenants have established themselves as a dominant force in the competition and enter the game as favourites. The reigning premiers survived a thrilling five-point victory over Darwin Buffettes last week, with the team’s star players stepping up. Jasmyn Hewett, one of the Women’s Premier League’s all-time greats, delivered another standout performance to lead her team.

Meanwhile, the Tiwi Bombers come into this match with plenty of confidence after a commanding 129-point win over Wanderers last weekend. Local talents Arthurina Moreen and Maria Rioli were in top form, and they’ll look to replicate their efforts against PINT.

The Darwin Buffettes will be eager to go one step further after narrowly missing out on victory against PINT last weekend. Lambert-Pearce Medal winner Dom Carbone was instrumental in that game, continuing her stellar form from the VFLW, while Tayla Hart-Aluni had several standout moments.

Nightcliff, meanwhile, will be looking to build on their strong defensive performance last week, where they held St Mary’s scoreless in the final term to secure a 12-point win. Eliza Hand made an impressive debut, and Jasmine Ware was also influential. Both will be key players as the Tigals aim for back-to-back victories.
