AFLNT and AFL Cairns partner for talent showcase

AFLNT partners with AFL Cairns

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) are pleased to announce the inaugural Under 18’s Male and Female representative matches between the Cazalys NT Talent Academy and AFL Cairns.

Hosted as the curtain raiser to the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Round 9 Clash between Gold Coast SUNS and North Melbourne at TIO Stadium.

The collaborative effort with AFLNT and AFL Cairns is a significant step forward in growing youth representative football across the regions and showcases a joint commitment to provide a competitive platform for our talented athletes.

Head of AFL Northern Territory, Sam Gibson said the match provided a unique opportunity to highlight up and coming talent right across Northern Australia.

“There is a natural synergy between Territory football and Cairns Football and we’re keen to explore this connection further in the future.

The talent fixtures confirmed in line with the Round 11 clash are a great way to strengthen our connection with Cairns and will be true showcase of talent across our jurisdictions.”

Craig Lees, General Manager of AFL Cairns, said the wider organisation are looking forward to the upcoming match and the bright future of our ongoing partnership with AFLNT.

"This partnership is not merely an opportunity to spotlight our talented players and coaches from Cairns, but it also strengthens our relationship with AFLNT and amplifies AFL’s presence across Northern Australia."
