2024 TIO CAFL Senior Men’s Round Twelve Recap

RD12 CAFL recap

The 2024 TIO Central Australian Football League (CAFL) had a quiet weekend of action with the women’s division having a bye, as the men’s took to TIO Traeger Park with Federal bouncing back, and South’s claiming a big win.

With just six rounds to finals, Federal is back on the winners list with a 32-point win over the Rovers.

A three-goal performance from nominated best on the ground, Abraham Ankers, led Federal to an important win as team selection for the CAFL representative game looms.

For Federal, a 30-to-2-point first term set up the win from early in the match. They held off any attacks from Rovers, keeping their distance at a healthy 29-point margin for most of the clash.

Federal’s Daniel Gorry was exceptional in the midfield delivering silver service to one of his forwards, Robby Bartee, who finished the day with three goals.

The Rovers did not go away, as Travis King, who has held consistent form throughout this season was again a driving force with Tyreeq Ahfat producing two goals of his own.

Souths had a big day against West as TIO NTFL (Northern Territory Football League) Darwin Buffaloes star forward Daniel Stafford kicked five goals.

Souths were relentless in their attack on Saturday, proving too much for West after 12 scoring shots in the first term equaled 42 points. From that point onwards, Souths would score a further 79 points just to three-quarter time.

Souths Jesiah Minor was also terrific with three goals, with Orlando Turner again finding himself working hard around the contest.

However, despite the result, Tanner Coulthard’s efforts could not be denied.
