Terrific Ten: 10 Territorians named for the Allies this Friday

The most talented footballers from across Australia will be in action at Werribee’s Avalon Airport Oval on Friday, as part of the 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships – U18 Girls.

The Allies squad, comprising players from Tasmania, Northern Territory, New South Wales and ACT, boasts 10 NT Thunder Academy players:

The NAB AFLW National Championships are the highest level of state and territory representative football, as part of the AFL’s Talent Pathway Program, and have been taking place across the country over the past month.

Friday’s triple-header begins at 10am with a clash between Western Australia and the Allies, comprising players from Tasmania, Northern Territory, New South Wales and ACT.

The final match of the day pits Queensland against Victoria Country, where both sides will be looking to register their first win of the competition.

The Championships also provide a pathway for the game’s emerging coaches, with 16 women coaching in the competition. They include current AFLW player Sarah Perkins (Queensland) and past players Lauren Morecroft (Victoria Metro), Sally Riley (Victoria Country) and Georgia Walker (Allies).

The 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships – U18 Girls concludes on Saturday 30 April when Queensland hosts the Allies at Metricon Stadium.

The NAB Player of the Championships medal will be awarded to the competition's most outstanding performer following the final game, along with the announcement of the 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships – U18 Girls All-Australian team.
