Standout NT talent, Dominique Carbone has taken then next step in her footballing journey, committing to sign with Hawthorn as the inaugural AFLW season approaches for the brown and gold.
Carbone was unlucky to be overlooked in past NAB AFL Women's drafts, but her performance in the NTFL, including a Williams Medal as Best on Ground in the Darwin Buffettes 2021/22 TIO NTFL Grand Final victory, paired with strong outings for Hawthorn's VFLW side, have impressed enough for the Hawks to secure the services of the skilled midfielder in their first season.
The talented 20-year-old has proven herself to be the amongst the Hawks most prolific ball-winners in the VFLW since being recruited to the side two seasons ago.
AFLW List Manager Mitchell Cashion said he was thrilled with the addition.
“Dom’s workrate and effort to improve her footy has been extremely impressive since walking in the doors at the club,” Cashion said.
“She has an excellent commitment to improving and getting the best out of herself.
“Dom boasts a high workrate and is a high-endurance player that creates a lot of scoring opportunities for her teammates.
“We are really excited to see what she brings to our side."
Carbone becomes the fourth player committed to signing for the Hawks ahead of their inaugural AFLW season, joining Bridget Deed, Zoe Barbakos and Sophie Locke.
