Thunder to feature in AFLW Under 18 Exhibition Match

Janet Baird and Renee Forth

Palmerston’s Janet Baird and ThunderW’s Renee Forth will feature in the NAB AFLW Under 18 Exhibition match which will be played tomorrow Friday, August 31, at Adelaide Oval.

The All Stars will play Victoria prior to the Chemist Warehouse E.J. Whitten Legends Game.

The teams were formed from the Under18 All-Australian squad that was named at the conclusion of the NAB AFLW Under18 Championships played on the Gold Coast in July.

Baird will play for the All Stars and adopted Territorian and NT ThunderW player Renee Forth will be an assistant coach for the team.

AFLW stars Aasta O’Connor and Alicia Eva will coach Victoria and the All Stars respectfully.

Baird will be joined by her NT ThunderW Adelaide-based teammates Nikki Gore and Katelyn Rosenzweig who will also line up for the All Stars.

AFL Head of Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said the match will feature the best young female players in the country.

“Many of these players will join AFLW team lists in October and will become household names during the third AFLW season early next year,” Ms Livingstone said.

“The standard at the Under 18 Championships was at a high standard and I encourage all footy fans to arrive early to see the future AFLW stars.”

The 2018 NAB AFLW Under 18 All-Australian team will be announced during halftime of the Chemist Warehouse E.J. Whitten Legends Game.
