AFL Northern Territory and the Cazalys NT Talent Academy are excited to confirm the playing sides for the upcoming Curtain Raiser matches this Saturday, 11 May 2024.
Playing in the lead up to the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Match between the Gold Coast SUNS and North Melbourne at TIO Stadium, the sides feature talent from right across the Northern Territory.
Key inclusions for the Under 18 NT women’s side include 2023/24 NT News Rising Star Marika Carlton and 2024 AFL Academy Player Tatyana Perry from Palmerston Magpies.
Announced in March, the collaborative effort with AFLNT and AFL Cairns is a significant step forward in growing youth representative football across the regions and showcases a joint commitment to provide a competitive platform for our talented athletes.
Donning the boots for the Under 18’s Men’s side is male recipient of the 2023/24 NT News Rising Star, Adrian Scott from the Nightcliff Tigers.
AFL Northern Territory Talent Manager, Shannon Millar spoke about the opportunity for players to make a name for themselves in front of AFL teams.
“This is an exciting opportunity for the NT Talent Academy to not only play as a curtain raiser match prior to an AFL game, but also to play a Cairns Representative team for the first time in front of a home crowd.”
The teams announced today are fluid and open to change depending on several factors from availability, injury, and form.
Pre-sale tickets for the anticipated 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Match between the Gold Coast SUNS and North Melbourne at TIO Stadium are still on sale and can be purchased here, match day tickets are required to be purchased to attend the Curtain Raiser matches.
AFLNT is proud to broadcast both matches live and free via the AFLNTv YouTube channel.
The full AFL Cairns line up can be found via AFL Cairns Socials.
