AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) has today advised there are some TIO Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) Round 8 fixture changes due to a variety of factors including the evolving COVID situation, extreme weather conditions and available resources.
AFLNT thanks the Clubs for prioritising the health and safety of our community and working with the TIO NTFL team to quickly adapt to changing environments appropriately to ensure risks are mitigated.
AFLNT will continue to work with the TIO NTFL Clubs and other competition stakeholders in order to continue the 2021/22 TIO NTFL Season through a flexible and agile approach.
Men’s Premier League
After consultation with the Clubs and other competition stakeholders, the Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Waratah has been moved from Wurrumiyanga Oval on Bathurst Island to TIO Stadium at 2pm on Saturday to ensure the health and safety of the community in light of the ever-changing COVID situation.
This is a conservative approach however the health and safety of the community remains the highest priority.
Additionally, with a collaboratively approach it was decided the Palmerston Magpies and St Mary’s match at Cazalys Arena will move to TIO Stadium this Sunday at 4.30pm due to operational capabilities of the venue.

Tiwi Bombers v Waratah – 2pm Saturday 20 November, TIO Stadium
Wanderers v Southern Districts – 4.30pm Saturday 20 November, TIO Stadium
Darwin Buffaloes v Nightcliff – 7pm Saturday 20 November, TIO Stadium
Palmerston Magpies v St Mary’s – 4.30pm Sunday 21 November, TIO Stadium
