TIO NTFL TRIBUNAL RESULTS Ė FINALS WEEK 3

AFL Northern Territory wishes to advise the Tribunal sat on Wednesday 15 March 2017 to hear one charge from the Menís Premier League and one charge from the Menís Division One of the TIO NTFL Competition.

TIO NTFL MENíS PREMIER LEAGUE

 

The Tribunal heard the charge of striking by Miles Warmington of Wanderers Football Club during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men's Premier League match between Wanderers Football Club and Nightcliff Football Club at TIO Stadium on Saturday 11 March 2017.

 

In summary, Warmington was found guilty of striking.

 

Based on the evidence available, the Tribunal upheld the incident as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

 

He has until 5pm tomorrow (Thursday) to lodge an appeal.

 

TIO NTFL MENíS DIVISION ONE

 

The Tribunal heard the charge of rough conduct by Brendan Lee of St Maryís Football Club during the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men's Division One match between Banks Football Club and St Maryís Football Club at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 11 March 2017.

 

In summary, Lee was found guilty of rough conduct.

 

Based on the evidence available, the Tribunal upheld the incident as careless conduct, high impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

 

He has until 5pm tomorrow (Thursday) to lodge an appeal.

 

4.3 Grounds for Appeal

 

A Person, Club and/or the Football Body, may appeal to the Appeal Board in respect of a decision made by the Tribunal under these Guidelines on one or more of the following grounds:

 

a) that there was an error of law;

 

b) that the decision was so unreasonable that no Tribunal acting reasonably could have come to that decision having regard to the evidence before it; and/or

 

c) that the sanction imposed was manifestly excessive
