Darryl White LEGEND (1986-2010)

A triple premiership player for the Brisbane Lions, Darryl White’s career began in Alice Springs where he played for Rovers and Pioneers. He played in the 1986 NT Primary team and in 1990 was named a Teal Cup All Australian. In 1992 he represented the NT against Geelong the same year his magnificent career for the Brisbane Lions began. A crowd favourite, fans grew to instantly recognise his loping running style, his casual but pinpoint foot passing, and his idiosyncratic pose after a mark. A member of the Indigenous All Stars team in 1995, 2003, 2005 and again in 2007, he was named fullback in the AFL Indigenous Team of the Century. He continued his career in Darwin playing and winning a premiership for the Buffs in 2005/06 and then a premiership at Southern Districts in 2006/07. In 2007 he again won a premiership for QAFL team Mt Gravatt securing his sixth premiership across three competitions; the AFL, NTFL and QAFL. The NTFL is fortunate to have White back in it’s folds as senior coach of Darwin Buffaloes this season. We welcome a genuine legend of the game into the AFLNT Hall of Fame~ Darryl White.
