ABOUT RELTON
Relton has been a dynamic midfielder/forward in the Northern Territory Football leagues for a number of years and this year he was a member of the inaugural NT Thunder senior team in the QAFL.
Relton followed the junior pathway of playing for the NT Thunder U18 team in the national championships for a number of years before plying his trade with the Arnhem Crows in the Katherine Football competition in 2009. He also had a taste of Victorian country football in the Goulburn Valley in 2008 and was a valued member of the Wanderers Football Club for the NTFL season of 2009/10.
Relton is a tremendously balanced kicker of the football on both sides of his body and his bullet like passing inside the forward 50 is one of his great assets. He also possesses a great turn of speed when playing forward to blow away his opponents that has seen him dubbed by his Wanderers team mates and opponents’ as the “Barunga Bullet”- after the small community of Barunga that he hails from.
In round 4 of the NTFL, Relton led Wanderers to a 22 point win over Waratahs when he turned on his speed and goal kicking prowess with a 5 goal-best on ground performance playing as a centre man and resting forward. Due to work commitments Relton was restricted to 3 games with the NT Thunder in the QAFL in 2009 but impressed with a 3 goal haul against the Brisbane Lions reserves in round 2.
Relton will add further skill and goal kicking power as a small forward to the clubs list. Reltons’ super kicking ability combined with pace and lateral movement will provide great excitement for the club going forward.
